Goals

A goal says what you're trying to move - more ARR, more people using a feature, fewer cancellations. VocxAI ranks your ideas by how much they should help, then checks whether what you ship actually did.

Goals are optional. The Ideas page works without them. When you add one, it filters and re-ranks your ideas around it - nothing is built or added to your roadmap on its own.

Creating a goal

On the Ideas page, click + Add next to Goals in the left pane and describe the goal in plain words. VocxAI works out the goal type (grow ARR, feature adoption, reduce churn, or custom), and suggests events worth tracking to measure it. You can edit the title, detail, success metric and target date at any time.

How ideas are ranked against a goal

Select a goal and the middle pane lists the ideas that fit it, highest fit first, in three groups: In flight (on the roadmap and moving through the plan), Shipped, and Suggested (not on the roadmap yet). Each idea shows its fit as a percentage; a suggested idea you linked by hand shows as Linked instead.

The fit is an AI judgement, not a measurement. VocxAI looks at your closest ideas, your highest-volume ideas and your open roadmap items, and rates how much each should help the goal, with a short reason you can read on the idea. Press Analyze again after new ideas form. If a scan fails, the error is shown rather than an empty list.

The goal overview

With a goal selected and no idea open, the right pane shows:

Opening an idea from a goal

Click an idea in the goal's list and the idea opens with a link back to the goal, its fit, and a Not for this goal button that removes it from this goal's suggestions. A side panel explains Why it fits this goal and lists Also linked to any other goals. To tie an idea to a goal yourself, use Link to a goal on the idea.

Measuring what you ship

Once a build agent opens a pull request for an idea, VocxAI counts it as shipped and watches it for 28 days. You can extend the window by another 28 days or stop watching.

"Shipped" means a pull request was opened. VocxAI never merges anything, so it doesn't claim a change is live. Merge it in GitHub as usual; the watch window runs from when the PR opened.
