Teams

Tag every idea and roadmap item by which team owns it. Define a few teams with the keywords that describe what they own, and VocxAI classifies new ideas automatically - always overridable by hand, and carried through the moment an idea becomes a roadmap feature.

How it works

Teams is a small taxonomy layer that sits on top of your existing ideas and roadmap:

1. Define your teams. On the Teams settings page, add a team for each part of your product a different group owns - a name and a handful of keywords or phrases (e.g. "Billing" → invoice, payment, subscription, refund).
2. New ideas get classified automatically. As VocxAI discovers a new idea from your customer signals, it's checked against your active teams and assigned to whichever one fits best - or left unassigned if nothing clearly does.
3. Override anything, anytime. Pick a different team (or clear it entirely) on any idea by hand. A manual choice is badged "Manual" and is never touched by re-classification.
4. Promoting an idea carries its team. Add an idea to the roadmap and whichever team is showing on it - manual or automatic - comes along to the new feature, editable independently from there.
5. Filter by team on both the Ideas and Roadmap pages once you have at least one team defined.

Defining your taxonomy

Manage teams on the Teams settings page (Settings → Teams), visible to account owners and admins. Each team is just two things:

• A name - short and concrete, the way your company would actually say it: "Billing", "Mobile", "Onboarding".
• Keywords & phrases - a comma-separated handful of words that describe what the team owns, e.g. invoice, payment, subscription, refund for a Billing team. These are read by the classifier as hints alongside each idea's own title, summary and feedback - they're not a strict allow-list, so an idea doesn't need to contain the literal word to still match.

Add a team manually at any time with Add team, edit its name or keywords whenever your product areas change, or remove one entirely - removing a team never touches the ideas or features that had it, it just leaves them unassigned.

Automatic classification

Once your account has at least one active team, classification happens in three places:

• Automatically, as new ideas are discovered. Every time VocxAI clusters a new idea out of your customer signals, it's checked against your teams in the same pass - no extra step, and no cost if you haven't set up a taxonomy yet.
• On demand, for one idea. A Suggest team button on any idea's detail view (next to Re-run analysis) classifies just that idea, right away.
• On demand, in bulk. A Classify unassigned ideas button on the Ideas page runs the same classifier over every idea that doesn't already have a team - automatic or manual. This is also how you catch existing ideas up after adding or editing teams: it only ever touches ideas with no team set, so nothing a human already decided is ever revisited.

If nothing in your taxonomy is a clear match, an idea is left unassigned rather than forced into the closest team.

Manual overrides

Every idea's team can be set or changed by hand from its detail view, whether or not it already has an automatic classification. Once set manually:

• It's badged Manual wherever the team shows.
• It always wins - if the automatic classifier runs again (from the bulk action, or if you re-trigger it), a manually-set idea is skipped entirely, so your choice is never quietly replaced.
• It can be cleared at any time, which hands the idea back to whatever the automatic classification is (or leaves it unassigned if it was never classified).

Roadmap carry-through

When you promote an idea to the roadmap, its effective team - the manual override if one is set, otherwise the automatic classification - is copied onto the new feature.

From that point on, the feature's team is a plain field you manage directly on the roadmap item, independent of the idea it came from. It's never re-classified automatically - a promoted feature is something a human is actively shepherding, so its team stays exactly where you put it until you change it.

Filtering by team

Once your account has at least one team, both the Ideas page and the Roadmap page get a Team filter:

• On Ideas, it sits alongside the existing Source and Date range filters, plus a No team option for anything still unassigned.
• On Roadmap, it's the page's first filter - narrowing "Up Next" and the backlog down to one team's items.

Both filters follow each item's effective team, so an idea filtered under "Billing" is one that's either manually set to Billing or was automatically classified there with no override.

Suggested taxonomy

Starting from a blank slate? Click Suggest teams from my ideas on the Teams settings page rather than guessing at names up front. VocxAI clusters your existing ideas by similarity and proposes a name for each cluster that looks like a distinct team, along with a one-sentence rationale for why.

• Nothing is created automatically. Each suggestion sits pending, above your tracked teams list, until you act on it.
• Confirm takes you straight into editing it, since a suggestion only comes with a name and rationale - you'll want to add keywords before it's useful for classification.
• Dismiss discards it, and it won't be suggested again on a future run.
• Re-running discovery skips any name that already matches a team you have, whether it's active or still sitting pending.

When to expect results

• Classifying a newly-discovered idea happens inline as part of discovery, so it's already set by the time the idea shows up on the Ideas page.
• Suggest team and Classify unassigned ideas both run in a few seconds, whenever you click them.
• Suggest teams from my ideas needs a handful of related ideas already in the account to find a cluster worth naming - on a very new account, it may come back with nothing yet. Try again once you have more ideas.
